Not the Easter Comp

An Easter of bad weather, good food, great company and enjoyable times.

With very few flying days and none with perfect Warwick weather there is not a lot to report about the flying but the event was a success and one that should be repeated on a regular basis.

The Good Friday was the start with some cold and windy weather that went rapidly downhill after that. For new member Amy Brehmer and students Jenny and Carel it was a day for learning from the master with Erich in the back seat of the PeeWee

Saturday saw the start of the rains and winds and the weather never really recovered until Sunday 12th when everyone had gone home.

The only OLC flights recorded

Monday 6th Andres Miramontes 112km and Paul Hogan 103km

Thursday 9th Paul Hogan 130km and Erich Wittstock 120km

Friday 10th Dan Atkinson 96km, Paul Hogan 92km and Andres Miramontes 81km

The best flight for the whole period was by David Kinlan on Sunday 12th after everyone else had gone home 259km

Erich spent his time, when not instructing, helping Boonah and Warwick members with instruments and rigging as well as advising all present about the finer points of cross country flying.

Val spent her time, when not towing, working with her helpers Pat and Jan preparing the evening meals and lunches.

Warwick club once again proved itself to be, a warm and welcoming club where all visitors can feel at home.

The event was a success because of our friendly atmosphere and in a big way because of the super efforts of Val and Erich.

The whole club thanks you.

Gliders in the mist Sunday 6th 8:30 am This day turned out to be flyable.
