On Saturday Dan and I spent most of the day rearranging the panel in ZDZ and fitting a new screen to run XCSoar - various technical glitches prevented it being finished until Sunday morning.

Nigel reported for Saturday:

Great roll up for Saturday with students and pilots all enjoying the calmer conditions. A light SE wind which died off, some nice cumulus later in the afternoon. I managed to get current again with a check by Erich although I don’t understand why Sid had to waggle his wings when the tug looked like it was flying fine to me. And thanks to Sid for allowing me to regain currency in towing, the highlight was towing Luke to 5,500ft to the far Cu’s near allora – which did have lift under them.

Sunday started with fog in the morning, but cleared to a lovely day, light winds, and CU started developing mid-morning. Adam Sinden flew in the PW6 with Eric, and  Michelle Dodd turned up later for some PW6 flying as well. Single seaters that I know of were Andres, Dan, Luke and me (Clyde). Dan and I had a lovely flight to Maryvale (with an excursion to Cunninghams Gap for me while waiting for Dan to catch up), Pittsworth and return with plenty of good climbs under cu, though it was getting soft by the time we got back.

Then I had a bit of a mad dash to get home in the SR22 before last light - on descent I passed by a rain shower with the setting sun low in the west and was treated to a 360 degree full circle rainbow - could not get a photo of the whole thing but managed a snap of one of the vertical sections.

All in all, a very nice weekend.
